EVIDENCE-BASED PRODUCT GUIDE
DNSYS X1 / Z1: what to know before you choose
Radventurers separates manufacturer-published specifications, independent reviews and research, and public field research so you can see where each statement comes from.
Manufacturer-published information
- DNSYS lists X1 configurations from 500 W to 900 W peak power, mechanical weight around 1.6–1.8 kg, and stated ranges of roughly 15–40 km depending on configuration/battery count.
- The manufacturer describes rapid battery swapping, gait-adaptive control and IP54 protection for X1.
- DNSYS explicitly states X1 is not a medical or rehabilitation device and requires independent walking, normal leg lifting and balance.
Published reviews & research
- WIRED's 2026 comparison found DNSYS assistance tangible and sometimes more forceful than Hypershell, but described its motion as jerkier/noisier and the design as less polished.
- The same comparison emphasized that individual benefit varies considerably, particularly between healthy active users and older users with mobility challenges.
Limitations & questions to evaluate
- Not a medical or rehabilitation device
- Requires independent walking and balance
- Water resistance is not immersion protection
- Power delivery may require acclimation
- Battery, terrain and mode affect range
