My Journey Back to Movement

Human 2.0 did not begin as a software idea. It began with an injury, years of trying to stay active, a lower-body exoskeleton packed for a business trip, and a six-hour airport delay that changed the direction of Radventurers.

FROM INJURY TO A NEW QUESTION

Movement had always been part of who I was.

As a student of Kung Fu, I had spent years thinking about balance, control, repetition and the connection between the mind and body. At 43, a snowboarding injury severely damaged the MCL in my left leg. Over time, the way I compensated for that injury contributed to a broader breakdown in how I moved, and I was dealing with arthritis in both hips and both knees.

For more than a year, I could not walk straight. Running was out of the question.

I did not simply sit still and accept it. I spent roughly two years in physical therapy. I had PRP performed on my hips. I tried acupuncture, dry needling, stretching and continued movement work. I kept searching because I needed a way to stay engaged with life and with the activities that mattered to me.

JUNE 1, 2026

I bought the exoskeleton for Japan. Canada became the first test.

I was traveling to Japan to expand the Radventurers e-bike and SNO-GO rental business. I purchased a lower-body exoskeleton because I expected long travel days, high walking demands and the kind of schedule that had become difficult for me.

On June 1, 2026, a typhoon delay left me stranded in Canada for about six hours. I decided to stop treating the device like something I was simply carrying to Japan and use the delay as a field test.

I walked around the airport. A lot.

The device immediately drew attention from travelers, airport employees and security teams walking the floor. People were curious because many of them had never seen anything like it. That was the first moment I realized how large the awareness gap around consumer mobility technology really was.

Then I noticed something else.

After roughly two hours of walking, my gait felt different to me. My steps felt more natural and more aligned. I cannot claim that the device repaired nerves or treated arthritis. What I can say is that it felt as if my body was being reminded of a movement pattern I had lost.

That distinction matters. This is a record of my experience, not a clinical conclusion.

THE NEXT THREE MORNINGS

Japan turned the experiment into a mission.

After arriving in Japan, I used the exoskeleton each morning for three more days. I focused on walking and repeated exposure rather than trying to prove how much power the device could provide.

My confidence in my own movement changed quickly. My gait felt more natural to me, and then I tried something I had not been able to do for more than a year: I took the device off and ran.

I ran without the exoskeleton.

That moment did not make me believe everyone would have the same result. It made me believe more people deserved the opportunity to understand this technology, experience it responsibly and have a structured way to learn what it might—or might not—help them do.

WHY HUMAN 2.0 EXISTS

The technology was only half the answer.

The harder problem was figuring out what device made sense, how to start, what to do before and after a session, how long to use it, when to repeat instead of progress and how to keep a record of what was actually changing.

Human 2.0 is the system I wish I had when I started. H2 begins with what you want your body to do, helps narrow the technology path, builds a device-specific starting plan and gives you a progression framework for continued use.

The goal is not to turn people into superheroes. It is to make emerging mobility technology understandable enough that more people can make informed decisions about movement, work, travel, recreation and active living.

Radventurers Mobility Lab and Human 2.0 are non-medical education programs. We do not claim that an exoskeleton treats arthritis, repairs an MCL, rewires the nervous system, cures pain or replaces licensed healthcare care. Individual experiences vary, and manufacturer instructions and healthcare restrictions should guide device use.

What we can do is make the technology easier to understand, provide structured education, create opportunities to try it and help people document their own experience responsibly.
