Why Moving Less Isn’t Always the Answer: Exploring the Future of Human Mobility

Why Moving Less Isn’t Always the Answer

If you’ve ever dealt with joint pain, stiffness, or fatigue, you’ve probably heard the same advice over and over again:

“Take it easy.”

Sometimes that’s the right advice. Rest is important, and there are situations where slowing down is exactly what your body needs. But what if your goal isn’t to stop moving? What if your goal is to find a smarter way to keep doing the things you love?

That’s the question I’ve been asking myself for years.

After multiple injuries and countless appointments with doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors, and other specialists, I found myself searching for something different. I wasn’t looking for a miracle cure. I was looking for a way to stay active without giving up the adventures that make life worth living.

Radventurers CO is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

That search eventually introduced me to wearable mobility technology.

Over the past few years, I’ve been amazed at how quickly this technology has evolved. Companies around the world are developing powered and passive wearable systems designed to support movement in ways that simply weren’t possible a decade ago. Yet most people have never even heard of them.

That’s one of the biggest reasons I created Radventurers Mobility Lab.

My vision is to build the world’s first real-world mobility lab where people can learn about emerging mobility technology, experience it firsthand, and see how it performs outside of a laboratory or trade show. I want to help bridge the gap between innovative technology and the people who may benefit from learning about it.

This isn’t about making promises or claiming that one product is the answer for everyone. Every person is different, every technology is different, and every experience is unique.

What I do believe is that people deserve the opportunity to explore these technologies for themselves and make informed decisions based on real-world experiences instead of marketing claims.

At Radventurers Mobility Lab, I’ll be documenting my own Return to 43 journey as I continue working toward living an active lifestyle. Along the way, I’ll be testing wearable mobility technology, sharing honest reviews, interviewing experts, working with businesses and community organizations, and giving people an inside look at where the future of human mobility is headed.

We’re entering a time when wearable technology is becoming more practical, more accessible, and more capable than ever before. Whether you’re someone trying to stay active, an employer looking for workplace solutions, an outdoor enthusiast, or simply curious about where technology is taking us, I believe this is a conversation worth having.

The future of mobility isn’t about replacing people.

It’s about giving people more opportunities to keep moving, keep exploring, and keep doing what they love.

If that sounds like something you’d like to follow, I’d love to have you join me on this journey.

Welcome to Radventurers Mobility Lab.
